Keira Knightley
Knightley was born in London in the family that included actors Will Knightley & Sharman Macdonald at six years old, was initially employed on TV commercials and films. In 1999, she portrayed Sabe as Sabe in Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Following her international success as a character in the fantasy show Pirates of the Caribbean in 2003, as Elizabeth Swann (a swashbuckling footballer), she was able to debut as a character in the sports drama Bend It Like Beckham in which she portrayed the teen. Knightley was considered one of the promising young stars following her appearing as a character in Love Actually (2003). Because of her performance as Elizabeth Bennet in the period romance Pride & Prejudice (2005), Knightley was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress. She starred in a number of more period pieces in which she played a complicated love interest on the screen in Atonement (2007) as well as a foodie Georgiana Cavendish on The Duchess (2008), and playing the titular socialite from Anna Karenina (2012). Her work also included modern dramas. Begin Again, (2013) saw her play the role of a singer who is aspiring to be one, while Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, (2014) saw her as a medical school student. Knightley was back in historical movies as Joan Clarke in The Imitation Game (2014), earning her an nomination for The Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, and starred as the writer named after her in Colette (2018).
